Ibanez RG550 Genesis Collection Electric Guitar – Purple Neon
A Legendary Shred Icon, Reborn for Modern Players
The Ibanez RG550 Genesis Collection revives one of the most influential guitars in metal and shred history. First introduced in 1987, the RG quickly became a benchmark for speed, precision and technical performance. This Japanese-built reissue takes the classic formula and pairs it with modern craftsmanship, delivering the same fast playability, razor-sharp tone and unmistakable aesthetic that made the original a genre-defining instrument. Finished in vivid Purple Neon, it’s a bold tribute to an era of unapologetic style and high-performance design.
Ultra-Fast Super Wizard Neck
The heart of the RG550 is the Super Wizard 5-piece Maple/Walnut neck, engineered for exceptional speed and durability. Its slim profile and glass-smooth feel make it perfect for advanced lead playing, fast alternate-picking, tapping and sweeping. Paired with a crisp Maple fretboard, the guitar offers immediate attack, bright articulation and superb upper-mid clarity.
HSH Versatility with V7 / S1 / V8 Pickups
With its celebrated HSH configuration, the RG550 delivers explosive flexibility. The V7 neck pickup offers tight, responsive lows; the S1 single-coil adds dynamic midrange and sparkling cleans; and the V8 bridge pickup provides aggressive bite and rich harmonic overtones. The 5-way selector unlocks diverse tonal combinations suited for everything from crystal-clear chords to high-gain shredding.
Premium Hardware for Optimised Performance
Built from lightweight Basswood, the body offers balanced resonance with a neutral tonal foundation, perfect for shaping with pedals or amp settings. The legendary Edge tremolo system provides world-class tuning stability and fluid whammy action, while Gotoh machine heads ensure smooth, precise tuning adjustments.
