The Truetone TT-V3JH Jekyll & Hyde Overdrive Distortion Pedal combines two distinct gain circuits in one highly flexible dual-effects pedal, pairing dynamic amp-like overdrive with powerful British-inspired distortion. A long-standing favourite among players seeking stacked gain options and extensive tonal shaping, the V3 version expands the original concept with deeper control, advanced routing and pedalboard-friendly refinements.
The Jekyll side delivers touch-responsive overdrive voiced more like a preamp than a conventional overdrive pedal, with controls including a sweepable bass knob and Clean Mix for blending in the original signal while adding saturation and warmth. It excels at low-to-mid gain textures, boosting and edge-of-breakup tones.
The Hyde side takes things into higher-gain territory with rich saturation inspired by classic hot-rodded British amp tones. With dedicated Hi-Gain and Volume controls, three-band EQ, plus Bright and Voice switches for shaping compression and bite, it offers a wide range of articulate rock and heavier distortion tones.
Both circuits can be used independently or stacked together for layered gain structures and massive drive sounds. Separate inputs and outputs allow advanced routing options, including loop switchers and effect order reversal, while each channel can be configured for True Bypass or buffered operation using Truetone’s Pure Tone circuit.
Housed in a compact dual-pedal format with front-mounted jacks and the custom Forever Footswitch rated for ten million activations, the TT-V3JH delivers premium gain flexibility, road-ready reliability and a broad tonal range for serious players.
