The Ibanez AZ427P2QM Premium is a powerful and expressive 7‑string electric guitar designed for players who demand versatility without sacrificing comfort or tone. As part of the acclaimed AZ Series, this Premium‑grade instrument is engineered to perform across a broad musical spectrum — from expressive blues phrasing and fusion lines to high‑gain progressive and modern metal styles.
Extended‑Range Versatility. Premium Feel. Modern AZ Performance.
Finished in the stunning Twilight Blue Burst, the AZ427P2QM pairs a beautifully figured quilted maple top with a carefully sculpted AZ body, delivering a refined aesthetic alongside exceptional ergonomics and tonal balance. Built with select tonewoods, premium hardware, and player‑focused features, this guitar invites creativity at every level.
Quilted Maple Top / American Basswood Body
The quilted maple top enhances attack and note definition, while the American basswood body delivers a smooth, even response with excellent sustain. This combination provides clarity under high gain while remaining warm and musical for clean and low‑gain playing.
Oval "C" Roasted Maple Neck
Ibanez’s roasted maple neck undergoes a heat‑treatment process that increases rigidity, moisture resistance, and long‑term stability. The comfortable Oval C profile offers a natural feel that supports extended practice sessions and advanced techniques.
Rosewood Fretboard with Stainless Steel Frets
The rosewood fretboard adds warmth and focused mids, perfectly complementing the guitar’s modern voicing. Jumbo stainless steel frets provide exceptional durability, fast response, and effortless articulation, even with wide bends and aggressive vibrato.
Seymour Duncan® Hyperion™ 7 Humbuckers
A matched pair of Hyperion™ 7 pickups delivers moderate output with Alnico‑5 magnets, ensuring:
- Clear pick attack
- Balanced frequency response
- Excellent note separation under distortion
These pickups preserve your natural tone and are highly responsive to dynamics and effects.
dyna‑MIX10 Switching System with Alter Switch
One of the AZ427P2QM’s standout features, the dyna‑MIX10 system, unlocks ten distinct tonal options, allowing instant switching between humbucker and single‑coil‑style voicings without sacrificing output or clarity. This makes the guitar exceptionally adaptable in both studio and live settings.
Gotoh® T1572S Tremolo Bridge
The Gotoh T1572S tremolo delivers smooth action, excellent tuning stability, and precise articulation. Its steel saddles and tremolo block, combined with 10.5mm string spacing, ensure confident picking across all seven strings.
Gotoh® MG‑T Locking Tuners
High‑quality Gotoh MG‑T locking machine heads provide fast string changes and outstanding tuning accuracy — ideal for tremolo use and extended‑range setups.
Ergonomic AZ Body with Super All Access Neck Joint
The contoured AZ body features a deep waist, generous forearm contour, and a Super All Access Neck Joint, allowing unrestricted reach to the upper frets and superior comfort in any playing position.
Luminescent Side Dots
Glow‑in‑the‑dark side dots improve fretboard visibility during low‑light performances and rehearsals.
