The Rubber Core Vic Firth M184 Corpsmaster® Keyboard mallets are designed to deliver clear articulation and strong projection while maintaining a controlled, musical tone.
Featuring a hard synthetic yarn head wrapped around a rubber core, the M184 offers a slightly firmer and more articulate response than the M172, making it an excellent choice for the middle to upper registers of the marimba.
Part of the Corpsmaster® Multi-Application Series, the M184 was developed with top drum and bugle corps to meet the demands of marching and front-ensemble performance.
The rubber core provides a rounded attack and controlled rebound, while the medium overall weight helps maintain tonal body without becoming overly aggressive. Combined with a birch shaft and 17" length, the M184 balances clarity, durability, and playability across indoor and outdoor performance environments.
