The Zildjian K1214 13¼" K Custom Hybrid Hi-Hat Top is part of the innovative Hybrid series developed in collaboration with world-renowned Japanese drummer Akira Jimbo. This model features Zildjian’s distinctive Hybrid brilliant/traditional dual-finish – a brilliant, unlathed inner section and a traditionally lathed outer ring – producing a refined blend of darkness with brilliance. This dual-surface approach offers drummers expanded tonal options depending on where the stick contacts the cymbal.
Akira Jimbo selected the 13¼" diameter as a "best-of-both-worlds" size, giving the power and presence of a 14" hi-hat while retaining the precision, cut and control of a 13". The result is a top hi-hat cymbal that is fast, articulate, and highly versatile in today’s hybrid acoustic/electronic and genre-crossing playing environments.
